Delivering reliable connectivity to more than 7,300 students and over 100 teachers in remote island communities in the Philippines, the Blockchain4Youth initiative reported completing the deployment of Starlink internet units to six schools across Surigao del Norte, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental this year, according to crypto firm Bitget.
Six New Starlink Units Deployed in 2025
The six schools that received the new Starlink units are the following, according to a media statement that BitPinas received:
- Espoir School of Life in Surigao del Norte
- Lasala Integrated School in Surigao del Norte
- Apo Elementary School in Negros Oriental
- Arts & Design Collective Dumaguete in Negros Oriental
- Siquijor State College in Siquijor
- Siquijor Provincial Science High School in Siquijor
“For many of these schools, this marks the first time they have experienced dependable high-speed internet access, transforming how classes are conducted and how teachers prepare lessons. Several campuses previously relied entirely on printed worksheets due to unreliable or nonexistent internet connectivity.”

More Than Just an Internet, But Even Education
According to Bitget, the Blockchain4Youth team conducted educator consultations, digital readiness assessments, and early testing of Blockchain4Youth learning modules alongside the installation at these six schools. The education initiatives include web3 and digital literacy programs.
Moreover, Bitget opened Blockchain4Youths’ interactive learning resources and online training and updated curricula to the students and educators of the beneficiary schools, as per the crypto firm.

Bitget’s Starlink Initiatives in PH
The deployment of Starlink Internet units to various schools around the Philippines is part of Bitget’s goal to extend digital infrastructure and education to underserved regions across the country.
It started in Siargao, an island in the province of Surigao Del Norte, specifically at Espoir School of Life. This non-profit organization provides free education to underprivileged children, and at one of the public schools in Barangay Pitogo.

Bitget has expressed its plans to continue deploying more Starlink units with digital skills programs to more schools across the Philippines. It shared that this is to ensure that no student or community is excluded from the “rapidly evolving digital landscape.”
