Bitcoin ETFs Lose $138M as Zcash Extends 3-Day Inflow Streak

Key Takeaways

Bitcoin ETFs Swing From Inflows to Selling

Bitcoin ETF demand ended the week on a softer note.

The group lost $137.94 million, led by a $110.34 million outflow from Blackrock’s IBIT. Fidelity’s FBTC shed another $31.78 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT provided the only inflow at $4.19 million.

Trading value fell to $1.33 billion, while net assets closed at $104.43 billion.

The lower turnover is notable after Thursday’s $635.49 million withdrawal. It suggests the most aggressive round of de-risking may have passed, though institutional appetite for bitcoin clearly remains fragile.

For bitcoin’s price, the week showed how quickly ETF flows can move from strong accumulation to broad profit-taking.

Bitcoin’s Midweek Surge Loses Momentum

The broader pattern is more important than Friday’s number alone.

Bitcoin ETFs attracted more than $1 billion across Monday through Wednesday. Then came two sharp reversals: $635.49 million left Thursday and another $137.94 million exited Friday.

That sequence highlights how tactical current positioning has become.

Blackrock and Fidelity dominated both sides of the trade, first driving inflows and then accounting for much of the selling. The result is a market where large institutions are still active, but conviction is not yet strong enough to prevent rapid reversals.

Ether Finds a Rare Clean Inflow Day

Ether ETFs managed a modest $4.35 million net inflow.

Fidelity’s FETH attracted $3.58 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSSE added $773,440. No ether fund recorded an outflow.

Trading activity totaled $392.93 million, with net assets closing at $14.64 billion.

The clean positive session is significant after weeks of persistent redemptions. Still, the size of the inflow remains small relative to recent withdrawals. That makes Friday more of a stabilization signal than a decisive shift in ethereum demand across the crypto ETF market.

Zcash Extends Its Rebound

Zcash ETFs remained one of the strongest pockets of demand. Grayscale’s ZCSH attracted $20.52 million, marking a third straight day of inflows. Net assets climbed to $706.72 million.

NEAR ETFs also stayed positive, with Bitwise’s NRR adding $992,690. XRP, solana and HYPE ETFs recorded no net flows.

That quiet finish suggests higher-beta demand remains selective even as some smaller products continue to attract targeted capital.

The product pipeline is also expanding.

Franklin Templeton has registered two new Nasdaq-listed ETFs, built around a 95% U.S. equity and 5% bitcoin allocation. Dividends from the equity portion would be directed into bitcoin exposure, with quarterly rebalancing designed to manage the allocation.

The structure is another sign that bitcoin is moving deeper into traditional portfolio construction rather than remaining confined to standalone crypto products.

Friday’s flows therefore closed the week with a mixed message: bitcoin demand softened, ether stabilized, and Zcash continued to draw capital. Institutional participation remains active, but increasingly selective.
