YGG Play, Ruyui to Feature ‘Roots of Embervault’ on Launchpad

YGG Play, the publishing arm of Yield Guild Games (YGG), announced a third-party publishing partnership with animation and gaming studio Ruyui to integrate the soulslike pixel-art RPG “Roots of Embervault” into its ecosystem. The game is featured on the YGG Play Launchpad starting Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 8:00 PM SGT, allowing players to complete in-game quests and earn rewards. The partnership focuses on user acquisition ahead of the game’s international rollout.

Retention and Revenue Metrics

Roots of Embervault is currently playable on Abstract Chain and combines soulslike environmental storytelling with pixel aesthetics.

  • Developed by Ruyui co-founders Petek and Yan, the game maintains a 46% player retention rate.
  • The title has generated $38,000 in revenue from a community of 1,500 monthly active users (MAU).

The game fits into YGG Play’s “Casual Degen” category, which consists of lightweight titles designed for crypto-native players. Players can collect the main character, Bob, via Telegram to utilize in chats and unlock in-game loot boxes. The title also features Abstract Runes, a mechanism allowing players to earn rewards by burning in-game items within the economy. IP Ownership and Regional Expansion

The partnership allows Ruyui to maintain ownership of its intellectual property while utilizing YGG Play’s scaling infrastructure. Traditional publishing models often require developers to surrender IP ownership, according to Ruyui co-founder Petek.

The collaboration supports Ruyui’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, where YGG has operated since 2020 and maintains a community of over 100,000 players. The YGG Play Launchpad will host skill-based quests designed for regional players. YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon noted that the platform aims to deliver crypto-native experiences to its APAC community. This coincides with upcoming localization efforts for Roots of Embervault to make its lore accessible to global markets. YGG Play intends to continue driving development within the Casual Degen category through 2026 using its growth support framework.
